Willie Beatrice Brown, affectionately known as Willie B. or B.B., was born on June 18, 1945, in Corpus Christi, Texas, to the late Milton Lee and Flourastine Perry. She attended Solomon Coles and later worked as a dedicated Nurse’s Aide. Though she enjoyed singing and playing bingo, her greatest joy and proudest accomplishment in life was caring for her beloved grandchildren.

Willie B. accepted Christ at an early age and was a faithful member of Mount Pilgrim Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Oliver Brown Sr.; her children, Joseph Perry, Milton Perry, and Yvonne Brown; her parents, Milton and Flourastine Perry; her brothers, Lewis Favors, Irvin Perry, Calvin Perry, and Timothy Perry; her sister, Dorothy Mae Terry (Edward “Mickey” Terry); and her great-grandsons, Michael C. Perry Jr. and Valentino Z. Brown.

Left to cherish her memory are her children: Donna Evans, Sharon Woods, Oliver Wayne Brown Jr., and Cory Newman Brown, all of Corpus Christi, Texas. She is also survived by 38 grandchildren, 58 great grandchildren, and 1 great -great grandson. Her memory will continue to live on through her siblings: Lee Perry, Charles Perry, Linda Henderson, Marion Miller, and Angela Fay Nation, along with a host of nieces and nephews. She was lovingly described as the “listen and never judge” aunty, because conversations with her were filled with guidance, compassion, and wisdom—spoken with love and never repeated.

Willie Beatrice Brown will be remembered for her kind spirit, her unwavering love for her family, and the legacy of strength, grace, and compassion she leaves behind.
