Valdemar Camacho, 76, passed away peacefully on July 21, 2026, surrounded by the love of his family.

He was born on April 20, 1950, to Maximo Camacho Sr. and Trinidad Torres Camacho. Valdemar was preceded in death by his parents and all of his siblings: brothers Maximo Camacho Jr., Ruben Camacho, Manuel Camacho, and Gilbert Camacho, and his beloved sister, Estella Camacho Jacinto.

A graduate of Miller High School, Valdemar spent many years working in construction. He was known for his kind heart, wonderful sense of humor, and easygoing spirit. He loved being around people and was rarely without a smile. Family gatherings brought him great joy, especially when there was good food, music, and laughter to share.

During the last four years of his life, Valdemar resided at Avir Nursing & Rehabilitation in Portland, Texas. There, he continued to enjoy life to the fullest. He loved socializing with everyone, looked forward to playing Bingo, and especially cherished celebrating his birthday each year. His standing request was always the same: "Two cakes—one chocolate and one vanilla—so everyone can have a piece." It became a beloved tradition, and his family made sure those two cakes were always there, bringing smiles to everyone who celebrated with him.

Valdemar will be remembered for his gentle heart, infectious smile, playful humor, and the kindness he shared so freely with everyone he met. He had a remarkable way of making people feel welcome, and his positive spirit touched the lives of many.

The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the physicians, nurses, CNAs, therapists, activities staff, social services, hospice team, and every employee at Avir Nursing & Rehabilitation in Portland, Texas. Over the past four years, they became far more than caregivers—they became his extended family. Their compassion, patience, laughter, dignity, and genuine love enriched Valdemar's life in countless ways, and for that, his family will be forever grateful.

A special thank you is extended on behalf of his nieces, Diana and Debbie, whose hearts are filled with gratitude for the extraordinary care, kindness, and love shown to their uncle. Thank you for embracing him as one of your own and for making his final years so full of joy, friendship, and dignity. Your compassion will never be forgotten.

Though our hearts are heavy, we find comfort in knowing Tio is now reunited with those who went before him. His memory will live on in the stories we tell, the laughter we share, and the love he leaves behind.
