Steven Trevino, known affectionately by many as “Rascal,” passed away on June 2, 2026, in his beloved hometown of Corpus Christi, Texas. Born on November 16, 1970, Steven’s life was a vibrant tapestry woven with love, laughter, and an unyielding spirit that brightened every room he entered.

Throughout his life, Steven found joy and purpose working on the oil rigs, a career that suited his hardy nature and steadfast work ethic. Yet beyond the rig, he was a man defined by his immense heart and boundless generosity. Whether it was his family, friends, or even strangers, Steven was always ready to give the shirt off his back and share a smile, no matter the burdens he carried himself.

Steven’s personality was a beacon of warmth and wit. He was a true character—outgoing, full of jokes, and endlessly affectionate. Family was his sanctuary. He cherished every moment spent with his mother, Alicia Luna and her husband, Tony Luna; his children Stephanie, Lisa, and Steven Trevino Jr.; and his 13 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren, whom he spoke of with the utmost pride and devotion. His siblings—Yvonne Escobar, Maria, Ruben, Guadalupe Jr., Rodney Trevino Santana, Barbie, and Pete Perez—along with countless nieces, nephews, uncles, aunts, cousins, and friends, all knew him as a joyous spirit who loved music, cruising, swimming, and the simple pleasures of life like rolling dice in game rooms or savoring the warmth of Fireball whiskey on occasion.

Steven’s love for life extended to the beach and animals, where he found peace and happiness. He was a shoe fanatic and always took pride in looking his best, combining style with his signature charm. He was a kid at heart, a trait that made his presence so magnetic. He loved talking on the phone and FaceTiming, always eager to hear a loved one’s voice or share a laugh.

He was preceded in death by his dear father, Guadalupe Trevino Sr., and his grandparents, José Sr. and Maria Cano. Their memory lives on in the family traditions and stories he cherished deeply.

Steven’s final journey will be celebrated with heartfelt services taking place at Saxet Funeral Home in Corpus Christi. On June 15, 2026, friends and family will come together for visitation from 3:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., including a rosary at 6:00 p.m. The next morning, June 16, a viewing will be held from 8:00 a.m. until 9:15 a.m., followed by a burial at Rose Hill Memorial Park at 10:00 a.m.

Steven Trevino touched so many lives simply by being himself—a loving father, devoted grandfather, loyal friend, and spirited soul who never hesitated to bring light and joy to those around him. His legacy is one of unwavering love, kindness, and the purest form of generosity. Though he is no longer with us in body, the echo of his laughter, the warmth of his smile, and the strength of his heart will remain forever in the hearts of those who were lucky enough to know him.
