Roland burst into life on July 9, 1979, in Corpus Christi, Tx to his parents, Doris Venson and Roosevelt Tillis. He transitioned from this life to eternal rest in the early hours of August 19, 2026. He was preceded in death by his beloved Mother, Doris Venson; Father, Roosevelt Tillis; and brothers, Bobby and Christopher Lewis.

He leaves to mourn his brothers Thomas (Kim) and Torey (Maribel) Venson, and sister Belva Robinson, all of Corpus Christi, TX; along with uncles, aunts, nephews, nieces, numerous cousins, and friends both past and present.

Roland accepted Christ and was baptized at the tender age of 8 years old here at the Mt. Zion Baptist Church, Corpus Christi, TX.

Roland loved sports and played them in school. He was an inspiring Rapper who composed many songs and collaborations and did a good job at it. He lived in the Texas Rio Grande Valley for several years, where he owned and operated a small business and made a way for himself. A new recipe and a good meal also gave him great joy. According to him, he swore he was a self-made at-home chef.

He was known for his BIG presence both physically and personality-wise. He had a laid-back, respectful disposition with a big, beautiful smile and contagious laugh. He sincerely loved his family and friends. Although he had no children of his own, he loved his nieces and nephews like they were his second father. His love for travel sparked his desire to have his Passport filled

One could say he uniquely held special bonds and close relationships with many; he was just that kind of guy. The phrase “to know him is to love him” seems tailored just for him. He repped his city, Corpus Christi, TX Northside (Wheatly), wherever he went.

Sad to say, gone too soon. Memories of love and laughter will surely last throughout our lifetimes.
