It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Robert Adan Puentes, who left us on August 23, 2025, in Corpus Christi, Texas, at the age of 50. Born on July 21, 1975, in Sterling, Illinois, Robert was a cherished son, a devoted father, a loving brother, and a doting grandfather who touched the lives of many with his warmth and humor.
Robert was the beloved son of Patricia Puentes-Cantu and Odelio Bueno, both of whom have proceeded him in death. He is survived by his six beloved children: Marcus Petrose, Zachary Hammond, Samantha Puentes, Robby Puentes, Denay Puentes, and Dracen Yáñez. Robert was also a proud grandfather, leaving behind six grandchildren: Zaiden, Jaxon, Elliana, Samantha, Valentina, and Sienna, who will forever remember him for his playful spirit and infectious laughter.
In addition to his children and grandchildren, Robert is survived by his four siblings: JR Bueno, Elsa (Hipólito)Cortez, Esteban Bueno, and Erica (Noe) Cortez. Together, they share a bond forged through a lifetime of love, laughter, and unforgettable memories. He also leaves behind his grandmother Lucy Puentes, and aunts including Irene Puentes, Roberta (John) González, and numerous cousins who loved and supported him. Robert is proceeded in death by his Grandfather Roberto Puentes, Aunt Cynthia García and Nephew Nicholas Cortez.
Robert was known for his many hobbies and interests, which included his passion for gardening. He had a special love for planting flowers and found great joy in nurturing the beauty of nature. His caring heart extended far beyond his garden, as he was always ready to help others, whether it was lending a hand to a neighbor or offering a listening ear to a friend in need.
Those who knew Robert will remember him for his unwavering dedication to working hard with his hands. He was a true craftsman, and his ability to fix things and create was admired by all. Robert had a remarkable gift for making others laugh, often cracking jokes and sharing stories that would light up any room. His jovial nature brought comfort and joy to those around him, and he had an incredible way of turning an ordinary day into something truly special.
A man of faith, Robert was a proud member of the Christian community. His deep-rooted beliefs guided him throughout his life, and he found strength and solace in the love of his family and friends.
A funeral service to celebrate Robert's life will be held on September 12, 2025, at 10:00 AM at 4001 Leopard Street, Corpus Christi, TX 78408. Family and friends are invited to gather together to honor the legacy of a remarkable man who has left an indelible mark on our hearts.
As we come together in remembrance, we would like to extend our heartfelt gratitude to everyone who made it out to pay their respects. Robert is smiling down on us today, and we can feel his spirit among us, uniting us in love and laughter as we share stories and cherish the memories we hold dear.
Robert Adan Puentes will be deeply missed but forever remembered for his kindness, laughter, and the love he poured into the lives of everyone he touched. May he rest in peace.
