In Loving Memory of Ray Van Wilson

With profound sadness and heartfelt love, we announce the passing of Ray Van Wilson, 71, of Corpus Christi, Texas, on June 29, 2026.

Born on November 17, 1954, Ray lived a life defined by love, dedication, laughter, and an unwavering commitment to his family. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend whose presence brought comfort, strength, and joy to everyone who knew him.

Ray shared 34 beautiful years with the love of his life, Cassandra Wilson, including 27 years of marriage. Together, they built a family rooted in love, resilience, and countless cherished memories. His greatest pride and joy was his family, and he spent his life making sure they felt protected, supported, and deeply loved.

For 26 years, Ray worked at C.C. Gasket & Fastener as a Shipping and Receiving Manager. He was known for his strong work ethic, dependability, and leadership. He took great pride in his work and in providing for those he loved.

Outside of work, Ray embraced life with enthusiasm and passion. He loved being outdoors and could often be found gardening, working in the yard, refurbishing projects, cooking for family and friends, or dancing whenever the opportunity arose. He had a gift for making people laugh and was always ready with a joke or funny story. A devoted Dallas Cowboys fan, Ray proudly supported his team through every season.

Those who knew Ray will remember him as loving, caring, protective, and generous. He was the kind of man who would do anything for his family. His strength, guidance, and unconditional love created a foundation that will continue to support his loved ones for generations to come.

Ray leaves to cherish his memory his beloved wife, Cassandra Wilson; his children, Reginald Wilson, Christy Lee, Rayneasha Wilson, Raven Lloyd, and Mathew Lloyd; his cherished grandchildren, Robert Williams, Rachaad Lee, Camron Usry, Matthew Lloyd, Maliyah Lloyd, and Ma’Lahni Lloyd; and his siblings Calantha Wilson, Ruth Simms, Kenneth Wilson. He is proceed in death by his parents, Ollie Mae Wilson-Jones, and Albert Lee Carroll, his sister Mryna “Bunnie” Jones, and brother Randolph “Randy” Wilson. 

He also leaves behind a host of nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends who were blessed to know and love him.

Though our hearts are heavy with grief, we find comfort in the memories Ray leaves behind—the laughter he shared, the wisdom he offered, the meals he prepared, the gardens he tended, and the love he gave so freely. His legacy lives on in the lives he touched and in the family he loved beyond measure.

Ray will be deeply missed, forever loved, and never forgotten.
