Norma Linda Leyva, a beloved Wife, Mother, Grandmother, Tia, Cousin, and Friend, passed away on Tuesday, January 14th, 2025, surrounded by her loving family. Born on June 22nd, 1962, in Corpus Christi, TX, to Angelita Alvarado Amador and Jose Santos Amador, Norma was cherished by many and will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

Norma was the rock of her family, known for her heart of gold and her ability to be a mother to all children who crossed her path. Her love for her family was immense, especially for her mother. Norma was a jack of all trades, capable of repairing anything, and she enjoyed rearranging her home while listening to her favorite music or watching movies. Her greatest passion was dedicating her life to her husband, children, family, and beloved pets. Norma lived with a strong connection to God and embraced the idea of joining Him and her loved ones in heaven.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Angelita and Jose, her sister Yolanda Amador Flores, cousin Isaac Eli Maldonado, and nephew Sylvester Maldonado Jr., along with her grandparents and various family members.

Norma leaves behind her husband of 42 years, Jose Alonzo Diaz, her children Hector [Zoila] Leyva, Antonio "Tony" Leyva Jr., Angelica Maria [Jose] Trejo, and Moses [Carolina] Leyva. She is also survived by her siblings Irma Amador [Sylvester] Maldonado, Sylvia Jo [Jose] Gonzalez, Nelda Amador [Danny] Orta, Carlos Rene [Lissette] Amador, and Angelita "Angie" Amador. Her cherished grandchildren Christopher Andrew [Destiny] Leyva, Sohn Damian [Sarah] Ellis, Ethan Alexander Leyva, Zoey-Jane Santos Leyva, Christopher Mathew Reed, Brandon Lee Ochoa, Eddie Jesse Ochoa, and great-grandchild Rosalinda "Rosie" Sturgeon will miss her dearly, along with numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

A celebration of Norma's beautiful life will be held at Saxet Funeral Home on January 30, 2025, from 3-9pm, with a religious service at 6pm. A burial service will follow at Memory Gardens on January 31, 2025, at 10am.
