Michael R. Claypool passed away on August 20, 2025, leaving behind family, friends, and a community who will forever hold his memory close to their hearts.

He was preceded in death by his adopted mother, Minnie Claypool; his sisters, June Williams and Maxine Moreno; and his brother, Jesse Claypool.

Michael is survived by his loving wife, Diane Hernandez; his children: Kristy (Derrick) Overfield, Faith Anderson, Michael (Katie) Courtney, and Andrew (Marissa) Claypool; and his stepchildren: Roxanne (Jonathan) Ortega, Michelle (Jose) Pulido, and Amanda Hernandez. He was a proud grandfather to many grandchildren and a beloved uncle to numerous nieces and nephews.

Mike was truly one of a kind — a real character with a heart as big as his personality. Anyone who knew him knew just how much he loved to talk. He was full of passion, humor, and enthusiasm.

He found joy in life's simple pleasures: going to the beach, watching sunsets, tending to his plants, and especially cooking. He loved experimenting with his own recipes and sharing his creations with others. If you mentioned something you were doing, chances are Mike had already done it — or at least had a great story about it. As the saying goes, "Anything you can do, I can do better" — and Mike would proudly agree, with that signature grin.

He loved singing karaoke and was never without his machine — ready to bring music and laughter wherever he went.

Mike brought joy, stories, and heart to everyone around him. His presence lit up a room, and his absence leaves a space no one else can fill.
