Obituary

Liz was born on December 17, 1929, in the small town of Banquete Texas. Her
parents were Beth and Alfred Elliott. She was the middle child of 7 brothers and
sisters.

After graduation as valedictorian at Banquete High School Liz moved to Corpus
Christi. Her dream was to go to Del Mar College but that wasn't to be. She found
her first job. She enrolled in night classes at a business school and then went to
work for the City Manager. At that first job she met a man, James O. Rose. They
married in 1948 and remained together until his death in 2007. Their bond, love,
and commitment for 56 years remain as examples for her children, grandchildren
and great grandchildren.

She is survived by Rebecca Ann Johnson (Ken), Mary Jean McAllister (Clark),
Ruth Elizabeth Walters (Richard) and Martha Jane Rose. Her son James O.
Rose Jr. preceded her in death in 2004. The memories only a grandchild can
have include Eric Johnson, Jane Johnson, James Rose, Jonathan Rose, Nancy
McDowell, Elliott McAllister, Beth Martinez and Katie Jones.

Her legacy also includes Megan, Lucien, Marshall, Teagan, Adalyn, Nathan, Lilah, Emilia,
Madaline, Dalton and MacKenzie as great grandchildren.

Her legacy also includes raising all her children in a strong faith and belief in
service to others. If the doors of church were open, we were there! The most
important group in her life were the women of United Methodist Women. Her
"women" were there for her through thick and thin and for that we will be eternally
grateful.

Liz's life was built on service to others whether it was through her church or to
the community. She was a CASA advocate and was also a Jefferson Award
winner. She participated in every mission and service project at her church.

Grateful beyond words to Elan Corpus Christi, Dr. Lee-Sang, Harbor Hospice
especially Meagan and Kim and our special blessing Christoper Morris.

Because of her faith, while there is sadness at the end of a life well lived there is
great joy in knowing that she is with God (probably making sure UMW is doing
what they are supposed to be doing or planning to weed the garden).
