Martin Aguilar, born on June 19, 1963, in Nuevo Leon, departed from this world on July 16, 2026. Although his triple bypass surgery was declared a success, complications during his recovery in the ICU ultimately overcame his courageous spirit. Martin fought with all the quiet strength that defined his life. Now, he is at peace.

To remember Martin is to remember a man who built his life, brick by brick, with unyielding dedication and gentle compassion. From a young age, Martin showed ambition and a drive for mastery. He graduated from high school and trade school, achievements that marked the foundation for a lifetime dedicated to craft and care. Harnessing these skills, Martin became a master framer and carpenter. His hands shaped dreams into wood and stone, and with vision, sweat, and integrity, he established Aguilar Construction—a company as steadfast and reliable as the man behind its name. For Martin, every beam set in place was more than work; it was an expression of his devotion to family and community.

Martin’s days were filled not only with purposeful labor but also with joys both simple and grand. Traveling sparked a special light in him—San Antonio and the Grand Canyon were among his favorite destinations, places where memories with family blossomed and laughter echoed wide beneath the sky. Holidays shimmered with togetherness in the Aguilar home; Martin cherished those times, delighting in the warmth and love of family celebrations, and always looking forward to the next gathering.

Soccer was his favorite sport, a passion he nurtured alongside movie nights and outings at favorite restaurants with loved ones. Whether thrilled by a fast break on the field or accompanying family to the movies, Martin found happiness in connection, adventure, and quiet moments alike.

But above all, Martin’s greatest pride sat not in the business he so painstakingly built, but in his children. Every act, from dawn until dusk, carried the unwavering thread of fatherhood, brotherhood, and sonship. He was a kind and confident soul who put others’ needs before his own, continually working to ensure those around him felt protected and cared for. Martin made sacrifice appear effortless and love an everyday gesture.

His presence radiated strength for those dearest to him, who now carry his legacy forward: his sons, Julio Aguilar, Martin Aguilar Jr., and Oscar Avila; his daughter, Erica Aguilar; his daughter-in-law, Laura Aguilar; his daughter-in-law, Jordan Avila; and his grandchildren, Garris Aguilar and Corbin Avila. As well as other extended family. They gather their memories and hold them close—each trip, each late-night conversation, each celebration, and every quiet expression of his enduring support. 

Martin is preceded in death by his beloved mother, Clara Lopez Flores, whose legacy of love endures in her son’s memory and the family’s hearts.

The community of friends, colleagues, and family will have an opportunity to share stories and honor Martin’s life during the visitation on July 21, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at Saxet Funeral Home, 4001 Leopard St, Corpus Christi, TX 78408. The funeral service will be held on the same day at noon, also at Saxet Funeral Home.

As we bid farewell to Martin Aguilar, we do so with full hearts, grateful for the laughter, the lessons, and the abiding love he gave so generously. He leaves a legacy written in the structures he raised, the journeys he embraced, and, most of all, in the lives of those he cherished. Though he has left this world, Martin’s steadfast spirit and the love he sowed remain, eternal and bright.
