Jose Reynaldo Herrera Jr., age 70, of Corpus Christi Tx, passed away on 12/14/2025. He was born on 4/23/1955 in Ysleta, Tx. to Jose Renaldo Herrera Sr. and Maria Sara Hernandez. Jose (Joe) was a devoted husband, loving father and proud grandfather and great grandfather. He will be remembered for his unmatched love, his strong will and most of all his faith. He never gave up hope, he never broke his connection with God. He spent his life working hard for his family and took great pride in making sure they were taken care of. Always trying to lead his children spiritually, teaching them God's ways with love, patience, and consistent instruction, rather than provoking them to anger, acting as a compassionate example, and never giving up on them. Joe was a wonderful, simple man. Having a heart full of courage, he never allowed his family to see him vulnerable. Being the unsung hero, he was for his family, he made sure his wife had the care she needed for the terminal illness she was battling, while still providing for his children. His confidence and determination never let him fail neither his wife nor his children. They could not think of any need in their childhood as strong as the need for a father's protection. We celebrate the time we had with Joe and never forget, it's only when you grow old and step back from him — or leave his side after all these years — it’s only then that you can measure his greatness and fully appreciate it. He is survived by his children, Joe Michael Herrera with wife Crystal, Michelle Herrera, and Alex Herrera with wife Sara. his grandchildren, Joe Michael Jr, Daisy, Mya, Albert, April, Martin, Andrew, Gabriel, Bella, Elijah, Eca, Katelyn and Aubrey. His Great Grandchildren, Luca, Xavier, Micah and Markelle. His siblings, Guadalupe, Richard, George and Margarita and Eduardo. He was preceded in death by his beautiful wife Elvira G. Herrera, Father Jose R. Herrera Sr. Mother Maria Sara Herrera and Brothers Martin and Arturo Herrera. Joe will be missed by all and will be remembered forever. Touching the lives of many, and bringing smiles to everyone who he met, Joe's teachings inspired through faith and discipline, will leave legacies of love and belief. “No matter where I am, your spirit will be beside me. For I know that no matter what, you will always be with me”.
The family will coordinate a small memorial service that will take place at a later date.
