It is with great sorrow that we announce the passing of Jana Ann Burke, age 68 of Corpus Christi, Texas on April 12, 2025.

Jana was born on January 24, 1958 to James and Eloise Burke in Melrose Park, IL. She was an exemplary student who also excelled in sports. After high school, she received a full basketball scholarship to Lamar University in Beaumont, Texas. Thereafter, she enlisted in the US Navy, stationed aboard an aircraft carrier. Upon release, Jana came home to join the family business as owner/operators of a chain of Sonic Drive-In's and, lastly, a Zaxby's Restaurant in and around the Tuscaloosa, Alabama area.

Jana is preceded in death by her parents James Howard and Eloise Chandler Burke, her brothers William James Burke and John Howard Burke.

Jana is survived by her sister-in-law Anita Cisneros Burke and neice Jamie Burke.

She will be remembered for a strong resolve and living life on her own terms. Jana was passionate about fishing, her all time favorite hobby. Jana was a very proud USN Veteran.

Eternal rest grant Jana, O Lord, and let your perpetual light shine upon her. May her soul and all the souls of the faithful departed, through the mercy of God, rest in peace. She will be greatly missed.
