James John Chaconas

James John Chaconas “JJ” passed away leaving behind a lifetime of service, hard work, laughter, and love. A decorated Vietnam combat veteran, JJ carried the strength and determination he learned through his service throughout the rest of his life. He was a man with a huge heart who was always willing to lend a hand, solve a problem, or simply be there for someone who needed him.

JJ had a remarkable gift for fixing things. If something was broken, he could usually figure out how to make it work again. Whether it was a machine, a project, or one of life’s unexpected problems, JJ approached it with patience, ingenuity, and a determination to get the job done.

He worked hard—often harder than anyone around him—but he never lost his sense of humor. JJ could be wonderfully silly at times, bringing laughter and lightheartedness even in the middle of a busy day. That combination of a strong work ethic and a playful spirit was part of what made him so special.

JJ is survived by his beloved wife, Sharron, who shared his life, his laughter, and his journey after 40 years. Their love was a cherished part of JJ’s life, and the memories they created together will remain a lasting treasure.

Those who knew JJ will remember not only the things he accomplished and his love for motorcycles, but the way he made people feel: cared for, helped, and welcomed. His generosity, humor, toughness, and enormous heart will remain in the memories of all who were fortunate enough to know him.

JJ served his country with honor, lived his life with determination, and loved with his whole heart. He leaves behind a legacy of service, hard work, laughter, and kindness that will not soon be forgotten.

Services will be held at Safe Harbor Fellowship September 2,2026 at 2pm
