Jacobo R. Solis, age 75, a proud veteran of the United States Air Force, passed away on March 27, 2026, surrounded by his family
Born and raised in Corpus Christi, Texas, Jacobo carried his roots with him throughout his life and was known for his strength, independence, and deep love for his family. In 1969, he married Edna G. Solis, and together they built a life and family that would carry on his legacy.
After serving in the United States Air Force, Jacobo went on to build a long career with the United States Postal Service, where he worked for 33 years before retiring. He later became a business owner, running Third Quarter Sports Bar for over a decade. Even after retiring again, he stayed active, spending time checking off his bucket list—one of his favorite memories being his trip to Alaska.
Jacobo enjoyed the simple things in life that brought him happiness—working with and hunting rocks and gems, fishing, traveling, riding his motorcycles, and spending time on the golf course. He had a deep love for football, especially cheering on his beloved Dallas Cowboys, and took pride in his collection of Bigfoot memorabilia. More than anything, he cherished time spent with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Domingo Solis and Petra Rodela; and his sisters, Dora Solis, Irma Garcia, Patty Hirle, and Janie Valenzuela.
Jacobo is survived by his wife of 56 years, Edna G. Solis; his children, Laura (Paul Cervantes) Solis, Sue Ann (Benito A. Luna) Luna, and Jacobo (Erin Solis) Solis Jr.; his grandchildren, Klaryssa Sanchez, Jackie Sanchez, Manuel Sanchez III, Sophia Cervantes, Olivia Cervantes, Emma Solis, Max Solis, Andres Luna, and Anthony Luna; and his great-grandchildren, Marcus Synatzske, Leon Synatzske, Sebastian Synatzske, Julianna Luna, Julian Luna, and Storm Sanchez.
He is also survived by his brothers and sisters, Debra Ochoa (Danny), Domingo Solis Jr. (Rebecca), Yolanda Guartuche (Danny), Javier Solis (Annette), Donna De Leon, Margaret Lopez (Mike), and Ana Villarreal (Victor), along with numerous nieces and nephews.
Jacobo’s legacy lives on through the generations he helped shape and the memories he created. He did things his way—always—and that’s exactly how he will be remembered.
He will be deeply missed and never forgotten.
