With heavy hearts and loving remembrance, we announce the passing of Graciela G. Gonzales, who departed from this world on June 29, 2026, in Corpus Christi, Texas. Born on August 17, 1955, in Robstown Texas. Graciela’s journey through life was defined by boundless generosity, unwavering strength, and a fierce devotion to those dearest to her.

A proud graduate of Roy Miller High School, Graciela’s wisdom and intelligence shone through in every endeavor she undertook and in every role she inhabited. She was the rock of her family—the very heart and soul who brought people together, supported them through troubles and triumphs alike, and ensured that love and unity prevailed in every circumstance. Those closest to Graciela, and those blessed to cross her path, will forever recall her as wise and resolute, nurturing yet radical, a woman whose resilience seemed boundless and whose selflessness knew no compromise. She was generous with her time, protective over her loved ones, and inspirational in her fierce commitment to her principles and her people.

Her immediate family, whom she cherished with all her heart, now bears the torch of her legacy. Graciela is lovingly survived by her devoted husband, Victor M. Garcia, and her beloved daughter, Merida Gonzales-Garcia. She also leaves behind nieces Mia Singleterry, Mireyna Singleterry, Laura Peña and husband Mark Peña, great niece and nephew Raedeon and Marky Peña, and nephew Medardo Murillo Jr., each of whom basked in her unwavering affection and guidance. Her brother, Jose Treviño, and her sister-in-law, Carmen Treviño, remain to honor her life and memory, as does her brother-in-law, Robert P. Garcia.

Among the many who made up the closely knit fabric of Graciela’s family, several have preceded her in death, including her cherished parents, Santiago and Ramona Gonzales; her parents-in-law, Manuel and Oralia Garcia; and dear siblings: her sisters Olga Medina, Evangelina T. Rivera, and Elva Murillo. Also awaiting her embrace in the afterlife are her niece Monica M. Singleterry and her nephew Benjamin Treviño.

Graciela embodied all the values that transform a family into a home: strength paired with loving compassion, guidance delivered with understanding, and a selfless willingness to stand as a shield against the currents of the world. Her tenacity was matched only by her kindness, and her spirit served as an anchor in both moments of hardship and times of joy.

All who wish to pay their respects and share in the collective celebration of her luminous life are invited to a visitation at Saxet Funeral Home, 4001 Leopard St, Corpus Christi, TX 78408, on July 10, 2026, from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM. At 7:30 PM, friends and family will gather for an Open Mic Speaking session—a Celebration of Life in which all are welcome to come forward with memories, stories, and tributes honoring Graciela’s indelible impact.

Though her physical presence may be lost to us, the echoes of her love, courage, and indomitable spirit will resonate in the hearts of all who loved her and all whose lives she touched. May Graciela Garcia Gonzales’ legacy endure—as a guiding light for her family, and as an enduring memory in the stories, laughter, and love she leaves behind.
