Francisco Javier Nesmith Sr., lovingly known to many as a devoted husband, father, grandfather, father-in-law, brother, uncle, son, cousin, and friend, passed away on May 20, 2026, at the age of 56. Born on April 18, 1970, in Corpus Christi, Francisco lived a life full of love, laughter, faith, and dedication to his family.

Francisco was a hardworking man who proudly spent more than 20 years working as a Hydraulic Mechanic at Bush Hydraulic. He took great pride in his work and was respected by those who knew him for his dedication, skill, and strong work ethic. Those strong skills he had were passed on to his loving children: Sophia Nesmith (David), Savanna Nesmith (Jammy), Francisco Nesmith Jr. (Brianna), Lorisa Ortiz (Esmeralda), Marisa Martinez (Sonia), and Clarisa Martinez (Pat).

Francisco loved being a father and grandfather to his grandchildren: Vayda Cantu, Francisco Javier Nesmith III, Christopher Trevino, Christian Garcia, and Lance Garcia, who will never forget their grandpa. He was the best husband to his wife, Rosalinda Nesmith, whom he left behind with a heart full of unforgettable memories. Francisco was also a proud son, a caring brother, a dear uncle, and a loving “Grandpaw.”

Francisco loved his family deeply and constantly reminded them through phone calls, jokes, and conversations that could last a lifetime if you let them. He had a way of lighting up a room and making everyone’s day with his kindness and positive attitude, no matter what cards he was dealt. Spending time with family and friends — whether talking in his living room, playing pool, barbecuing, or watching the Dallas Cowboys — any time spent with Francisco was a celebration full of laughter.

Though his passing leaves an immeasurable void, Francisco’s love, laughter, wisdom, and unforgettable personality will continue to live on through all who knew and loved him.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Virginia Martinez and Ramon Martinez; his daughter, Sadie Nesmith; and his sister, Gracie Martinez.

He will be deeply missed and forever remembered in our hearts and minds, and his jokes, laughter, and the memories he created with those he loved will never be forgotten. We will forever love and cherish the time we shared with him, and his memory will live on forever in all of us.
