Obituary

Felipe Mejia Rodriguez, a beloved Husband, Father, Grandfather, Brother, Friend, passed away peacefully on May 20, 2025, at the age of 62, in Corpus Christi, Texas. Born on June 1, 1962 in Zaragoza Puebla Mexico. Felipe's life was dedicated to his hard work and providing for his family. Felipe is preceded in death by his parents, Lidia Rodriguez and Constantino Mejia; as well as his niece Alejandra Mejia.

His legacy continues through his loving wife of nearly 16 years, Lucille Lopez; his sons Angel Veral (Nataly), Joshua Hernandez (Lisa) and Carlos Hernandez (Tommie); his only daughter Krystal (Juan); his brothers, Jose Noe Mejia Rodriguez (Nieves), Gregorio Mejia Rodriguez (Celia), Fortunato Mejia Rodriguez, Felix Mejia Rodriguez (Elena); and his sister Leticia Mendez Rodriguez. Felipe's memory will also be cherished by his 7 grandchildren and his first great grandson, as well as a host of nieces and nephews who will miss him dearly. Felipe's work ethic was just as strong as his love for his family. Felipe came from Mexico to the states for a better future. Starting in Michigan, where he picked strawberries for 50 cents each. His passion for carpentry took him many places, like New Orleans and Louisiana after hurricane Katrina hit. Then Corpus Christi, Texas where he stayed and made many bonds with clients he met over the years. Sun, rain or snow there was never a day he didn't go out and look for work. Felipe's commitment to his work was matched only by his commitment to his loved ones and clients. He had a passion for collecting coins and painting things of his own imagination. His love for his grandkids who knew him as "Papi" was out of this world, along with his great grandson whom he enjoyed for an amazing 6 months. Felipe's sense of humor, love for his family and dedication to his work were the hallmarks of his personality. He never failed to provide when his were in need, no matter what it was. He would always get it done when anyone asked. He had the ability to light up a room and make everyone feel welcomed and loved. His huge smile and rare personality will be profoundly missed. The pallbearers, carrying on Felipe's legacy with honor, will be his brother Fortunato Mejia Rodriguez; his sons Joshua Hernandez and Juan Puentes; his nephew Caleb Lopez; and his great grandson Joshua Hernandez Jr and Arturo Chavira. Izael Chavira will serve as a honorary pallbearer, a testament to the deep bond Felipe shared with his one and only "Nene". Felipe Mejia Rodriguez lived a life of love, laughter and hard work. May your memory be a blessing. His journey on earth may have come to a close, but his spirit continues to inspire and guide those he left behind. Even though he's gone, his impact on our lives remains. All of the countless ways he enriched our lives will ALWAYS be spoken of. Thank you for being you, we love you. Your presence will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing you and your love will live on forever.

On behalf of the family, we would like to express our gratitude and love for everyone that called, visited, helped, prayed and cared for Felipe.
