Cheryl Jean Morgan, beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, peacefully passed away on November 5, 2025, at Spohn Shoreline Hospital in Corpus Christi, Texas. She was born on July 1, 1952, in Rockdale, Texas, to the late Luther B. Reed and Lillie Pearl Reed.
Cheryl was educated through the Rockdale Independent School District, where she formed many lifelong friendships and developed her strong sense of community and compassion for others. After moving to Corpus Christi, she dedicated her career to serving students as a school bus driver for the Corpus Christi Independent School District, a role she held with pride until her retirement. Her patience, kindness, and warm smile touched the lives of countless children and families throughout the years.
Family was the center of Cheryl's life. She found joy in raising her children, whom she loved deeply, and cherished every moment spent with her large, close-knit family and many dear friends. Whether sharing a laugh, cooking a meal, or offering a listening ear, Cheryl's gentle spirit and caring heart shone through in everything she did.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband, William Morgan Jr.; her only daughter, Patrice Morgan; her sons, Eric Morgan and Patrick Morgan; her beloved maternal grandmother affectionately known as "Big Mama," Arillia Granger; her mother, Lillie Pearl Reed; father-in-law, William Morgan Sr.; sisters, Patricia Jones and LaTrenda Miller; brothers, Gary Reed and Daryl Reed; grandson, Marcus Thomas; and cousin and nephew Jeremy Hardaway. As well as numerous amounts of cousin to cherish.
She leaves to cherish her memory of her devoted sons William () Morgan, Johnnie () Morgan, and Earl Morgan; her loving mother-in-law, Johnnie Mae Bowman; cherished aunt, Mary (Manuel) Anderson; a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, extended family, and dear friends who will forever remember her kindness, humor, and strength.
Cheryl's gentle presence, unwavering faith, and unconditional love will continue to live on through all who knew and loved her. Though she is no longer with us in body, her legacy of love and compassion will remain in our hearts forever.
