Charles Michael “Mike” Jeffords passed away peacefully on June 2, 2026, in Corpus Christi, Texas, at the age of 82. Born on December 9, 1943, Mike lived a life marked by dedication to his family, faithful service to his country, and a genuine love for people.
Mike was the beloved son of Charles Michael Jeffords II and Dorothy Shirley Jeffords. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Lessie Morris Jeffords, and by two of his children, Charles “Mikey” Michael Jeffords III and Tasha Jeffords.
He is survived by his loving daughter, Tracy Martinez, and her husband, Lawrence Martinez Jr. He also leaves behind his cherished grandchildren, Amanda Hart, Mel Macias, Amadeus Jeffords, Benjamin Martinez, and Ella Martinez, as well as his treasured great-grandchild, Atlas Garza.
Mike proudly served in the United States Coast Guard for 23 years. Throughout his military career, he demonstrated honor, commitment, and a deep sense of duty to his country. His service was a source of great pride for both himself and his family.
Known by many as a true people person, Mike never met a stranger. He had a gift for conversation, a welcoming smile, and a kind heart that drew people to him. Whether sharing stories, offering encouragement, or simply spending time with friends and family, he made those around him feel valued and appreciated.
Mike’s life was a testament to love, service, and resilience. Though he will be deeply missed, his legacy lives on through the family he cherished, the friends he made, and the countless lives he touched.
