In Loving Memory of Basilio Rodela

March 24, 1945 – June 28, 2026

With profound sadness and loving remembrance, we announce the passing of Basilio Rodela, who entered eternal rest on June 28, 2026, at the age of 81.

Basilio was a retired U.S. Army veteran who proudly served his country with honor and dedication. After his military service, he built a career as a skilled home appliance repair technician, where he continued serving others through his hard work and expertise. A longtime resident of Corpus Christi, Texas, he was known as a hardworking, dependable, and compassionate man who was always willing to lend a helping hand.

He had a passion for mechanics and enjoyed spending time fishing. Whether fixing something that was broken, sharing a laugh with family and friends, or helping a neighbor in need, Basilio touched countless lives with his kindness, generosity, and warm sense of humor.

Above all, Basilio was a devoted father whose greatest joy was his family. He is lovingly survived by his children: Lisa Garcia (Hugo Garcia), Basilio Rodela III, Gabriel Rodela, Angel Rodela, and Robert Rodela.

He is also survived by his loving sisters, Antonia R. Galvan, Oralia R. Ramirez (David), and Norma R. Gomez. He was preceded in death by his sisters, Petra R. Solis, Felicitas R. Garcia, and Maria R. Garrett, and by his brother, Robert P. Rodela.

Though our hearts are heavy with sorrow, we celebrate a life defined by faith, service, integrity, love, and selflessness. His legacy will continue through the lives he touched and the values he passed on to his family.

Family and friends are invited to celebrate Basilio’s life on Wednesday, July 8, 2026. Visitation will begin at 9:00 a.m., followed by the funeral service at 12:00 p.m., at Saxet Funeral Home, 4001 Leopard Street, Corpus Christi, Texas 78408.

Basilio will be deeply missed, forever loved, and never forgotten. May he rest in eternal peace, and may his memory continue to be a blessing to all who knew and loved him.
