Armando was born in Corpus Christi on August 26,1959

He treasured spending time with those closest to him, he didn’t know how to ever say no when someone asked for help he loved celebrating birthdays and special occasions, loved listening to music, he also loved gathering together during the holidays. He especially looked forward to the family's Thanksgiving dinner and cherished every opportunity to be surrounded by the people he loved. Armando had a gift for connecting with everyone he met. His easygoing nature, quick humor and his friendship left a lasting impression on everyone fortunate enough to know him.
Armando is preceded in death by his parents Lazaro and Maria G Velasquez, his wife Martha Velasquez two brothers , Pete and Larry Velasquez and one sister Velinda Velasquez Armando is survived by his three brothers Lazaro , Johnny , Henry (Olga) Velasquez and by his son Armando Velasquez jr and daughter Irma Saavedra and numerous nieces and nephew and several grandchildren he leaves behind a family who will miss him Though Armando is no longer with us due to cancer his laughter, his stories, his love of sports, and the countless memories he created with his family and friends will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
