With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Albert Howard, a deeply cherished father, brother, and friend, who left this world on August 1, 2026, at the age of 74. Born on March 2, 1952, Albert lived a life marked by compassion, resilience, and a profound sense of connection with everyone around him.

Albert’s story is one of warmth, diligence, and unwavering love. He was a proud graduate of Morehouse College, Atlanta, where he built the foundation not only for his successful career but also for the wisdom and kindness that defined his every action. After his studies, he devoted himself to the trade of brick-masonry—a skilled craft he approached with dedication, artistry, and pride. Each wall he built stood as a quiet testament to his strength, his integrity, and the care he put into his work.

Family was always at the heart of Albert’s world. His life was shaped by the bond he shared with his siblings—some of whom have left before him: his sisters Jenn, LeAnne, Marilyn, and Cynthia, and his brothers James and Leroy, all dearly missed yet forever remembered in his heart. He now leaves behind his loving sister, Dottie Betty Francines Dianne Stephanie, and his devoted brother, Scotty Ancian, who will carry on his memory.

As a father, Albert provided steadfast support and nurturing love to his children: Antionette McKnight, and Annette Howard. Their lives are brighter for having been guided by his gentle wisdom and steady encouragement. He also embraced Curtis Hall, his step-son, as his own, constantly showing the compassionate and inclusive love for which he was so well known.

Albert’s home was always filled with laughter and heartfelt conversation. He had an extraordinary gift for making others feel welcome, seen, and important—neighbor children would gather to play and talk, eager for his warmth and jovial spirit. He was soft-spoken, yet his ever-present smile spoke volumes, brightening the days of all who crossed his path.

He found immense joy in the simple pleasures of life: playing dominos, shooting pool with friends, casting a line out fishing, or taking slow, thoughtful drives around town. These moments of leisure were when Albert’s contentment and humor truly shone through, bringing those around him into his circle of peace.

Above all, Albert took an active role in his community. He was quick to reach out and listen, never hesitating to lend a comforting word or helping hand to the homeless and those in need. His kindness was unreserved, his empathy profound, and his ability to connect—especially with those going through difficult times—left a mark on countless lives.

Albert’s legacy is one of gentleness, generosity, and enduring love. He will be remembered for his unwavering willingness to do anything for his family, his friends, and even those he had just met. He has touched all who knew him, enriching their journeys with his patience, loyalty, and deep, embracing affection.

A visitation in memory of Albert Howard will be held on August 17, 2026, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Saxet Funeral Home, 4001 Leopard St, Corpus Christi, TX 78408. On August 18, 2026, from 11:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. the services will be at Calvary First Baptist, 2906 Carver Dr, Corpus Christi, Texas 78405. Family and friends are invited to gather, share stories, and honor the extraordinary life of a man whose humility and kindness defined every day he spent among us.

Though Albert may be gone, his spirit lives on in the hearts of those he loved and in the community he served. May his memory be a blessing and a guiding light.
